Four Teachers Win Appeal Against School District

The dismissal of four senior teachers from El Tejon Unifed School District was considered by Administrative Law Judge Samuel D. Reyes from the California Office of Administrative Hearings on May 27. On June 14 Reyes wrote that the reasoning given by ETUSD Superintendent Katie Kleier and the ETUSD Board for not employing Carolyn Haynes, Mark Hellman, Charles Mullen and Charles Stewart for the 2011-2012 school year is flawed. The judge upheld the reduction in force notice to Jeff Beigle. In all, 9.5 teachers were given notice this year. The others did not appeal.
