New Frazier Park Library Breaks Ground

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009)—About 200 people took part in the groundbreaking ceremonies for Frazier Park’s new library this morning at Frazier Mountain Park.

The Master of Ceremonies was Kern County Director of Libraries Diane Duquette.

Color guard and flag salute was conducted by VFW Post 9791: Frankie Sanchez, A.J. Durocher, Wilford Bummer and Richard Gillies. The National Anthem and America The Beautiful were sung by Bethel Billesbach and Marian Orrell (formerly with Masterworks Chorale of Bakersfield) with Bryan J. Olgin, Accordionist.

Speakers included County Supervisor Ray Watson, California State Libraries Facilities Consultant Bessie Condos, District Director for Congressman Kevin McCarthy Vince Fong, Field Representative to State Assemblywoman Jean Fuller Bryan Williams, Managing Editor of The Mountain Enterprise Patric Hedlund, Friends of the Frazier Park Branch Library President Judi Waters, El Tejon Unified School District (ETUSD) Board President Kenneth Hurst, ETUSD Acting Superintendent Dr. Danny Whetton, Rotary Club of Frazier Mountain Communities President Deborah Turner, Mountain Communities Family Resource Center Coordinator Anne Weber and Mountain Communities Chamber of Commerce President Stacey Havener.

Entertainment included:
