Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Commission To Meet in Ontario

Special Workshop for Public and Commission Dialogue Wednesday, Nov. 4

FRAZIER PARK, Calif. (Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, 7:10 p.m.)—The Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Commission will hold a meeting and public workshop on November 4, 2009 in Ontario, California. The Commission consists of nine members appointed by the Governor, Senate Committee on Rules, and the Speaker of the Assembly. They are charged with hearing the concerns and issues of the public related to off-highway vehicle recreation in California, as well as providing input and recommendations for the California State Parks OHMVR Program.

The public meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, from 1 – 4:30 p.m. at the Marriott Ontario Airport Hotel, 2222 East Holt Blvd., Ontario, California 91761. The Commission will hear reports on, and address, a number of agenda items including the Commission schedule for 2010 as well as a discussion on cost recovery for special events on U.S. Forest Service lands. In the early evening, beginning at 6 p.m. and concluding at 9 p.m., the Commission will hold an interactive workshop with the public to solicit ideas, gather feedback on, and discuss a variety of topics including development of a statewide education program related to OHV recreation in California.

Public comment on these and other issues will be heard.
