Traffic Update: Traffic Slowed on Hwy 33 Near Lockwood Valley, through Los Padres National Forest

Construction on Highway 33 five miles north of Lockwood Valley and running through the Los Padres National Forest will slow traffic in both directions.

The closure began on June 20 and will continue through June 27. One lane will be open in each direction. Traffic control will be in place.

The repairs are part of a $3.5 million emergency project to correct storm-damaged road and slopes on Highway 33.

Construction started in April. It is expected to be complete in early fall.
