Playfulness, smiles and music are medicine

When a chicken wearing a red bra and a green dragon strolled onstage at the Fiesta Days Pet Show, Friday, Aug. 2, it was official: The 52nd Annual Fiesta Days had begun. Amplifiers for the music of Pam and Walt Ryba kicked off the music festival celebration, and children lined up for carnival rides. Playfulness, friendly smiles between neighbors and a lot of music are medicine for the soul.

The Mountain Memories Association (MMA), which produces the festival to raise funds for community projects and scholarships, reports that the event…(please see below to view full stories and photographs)
