Army Corps of Engineers presents report for public feedback

Bruce James of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) soldiered through an arsenal of Powerpoint slides Wednesday, Aug. 21, explaining a proposed munitions clean-up plan for the Dry Canyon and Dome Spring areas in the Los Padres National Forest.

A room of about 20 4×4 enthusiasts listened politely, but with obvious skepticism.
James’ slide listing munitions waste found in preliminary investigations included six pieces of unexploded ordnance: four 105mm MKI high explosives and two 37mm MKII low explosives.
