We are very excited to invite you to the first ever Color the Mountain 5k walk/run.
This Frazier Mountain Park event will benefit youth mentoring and leadership training through the creation of a leadership camp right here in our Mountain Communities.
McCASA (Mountain Communities Coalition Against Substance Abuse) is a community organization that works with the Family Resource Center.
McCASA’s principle mission is to build safe, healthy and drug free communities through the reduction of substance abuse among youth.
To further that mission, McCASA formed a youth group in August, 2011 called MyC3 (Mountain Youth Can Change Communities).
Through annual youth leadership trainings, community service projects, creation of public service announcements, and active leadership for our youth, MyC3 is committed to making a difference in the lives of other youth and sharing the knowledge they have attained over the last three years about being leaders.
The funds provided by this event will be used to further MyC3’s goal to create an alcohol and drug-free community through mentor and leadership training.
By building a youth leadership camp we are hoping to provide our youth with positive peer influence where students are not only teaching other students, but setting examples of how to use leadership skills to live above the influence.
