On Thursday, February 6, local author Wayne Diehl spoke at Adventure Ink Bookstore and Tearoom in Pine Mountain Club (PMC). The event was well-attended, and someone offered freshly made peanut butter cookies to those in attendance.
Diehl began the event by introducing himself and his history. Diehl was a career FedEx driver, and it was not until he retired 20 years ago that he did any serious writing. Diehl took some classes and received meaningful feedback, but it wasn’t until he found out he was going to be a grandfather for the first time that real motivation struck him and he started to write his first novel. That novel would become “The Boy with No Name.” He set off to write a book about how his soon to be grandchild got his name, “but that’s not what came out,” said Diehl.
