“I’m researching information on a story that happened back” in 1983, a Hollywood podcast producer said on the phone when she called us last October.

Because the producer wasn’t willing to provide us information about her podcast project, we did not reach an arrangement to provide her access to our archives.

But The Mountain Enterprise story we located in the archives, dated June 17, 1983, opened its own trail of information that we decided to follow to write a story about the murder that occurred in Gorman five weeks before the article was published.
