A Year Later: Clinica CEO’s promises raise questions

Over a year ago, the brand new CEO for Clinica Sierra Vista, Brian Harris, was introduced to the Mountain Communities in a packed Health Care Town Hall at the Frazier Park Library.

Sitting beside Harris, first responders from the Kern County Fire Department and Hall Ambulance Service represented the continuum of care available to local residents. South West Health Care District board member Militsa Brennan (who coordinates the prevention-oriented Community Health Fair) was also a panelist, with Brent Burket, MD, (Clinica’s family medicine physician); nurse practitioner Sharon Powell; psychologist Sarah Edwards, PhD; and the director of the Family Resource Center also came. They answered a continuous volley of questions from the  public.

The Clinica CEO made a long list of promises during that fast-paced event. Now his rhetoric is being tested.
