Veterans Day at the Cody Prosser Veterans Memorial in Frazier Mountain Park next Monday will host music, a dance salute, thoughtful speakers, hot dogs and several special surprises.
“11-11-11” is the magic phrase around VFW Post 9791 this week: Monday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. (“the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month”) is the target for Don Turner’s planning of this VFW-hosted event.
The band YesterYear, In the Wings Studio of Dance, students from Gorman, El Tejon, Peak to Peak and Frazier Park Schools will all present tributes to veterans, along with three guest speakers (and hopefully a local celebrity guest).
Kern County Fire Engine 55, a ladder truck, will unfurl the station’s giant American Flag for the event. Come a little early to get a good seat. Here’s the schedule:
