FIRE OUT—Brush fire breaks out south of Grapevine

LEBEC, CA (Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020 at 2:25 p.m.)The fire is out and crews are mopping up.

LEBEC, CA (Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020 at 12:30 p.m.)The Fort fire is at 350 acres and is 40% contained, according to Kern County Fire Department. The #4 lane (slow lane) is closed.

LEBEC, CA (Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020 at 10:40 a.m.)The Fort fire is now 200 to 250 acres in size. Smoke in the Frazier Park and Lebec areas is from the Fort fire which is burning approximately 2 miles north of Digier canyon.

LEBEC, CA (Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020 at 9:19 a.m.)Incident command has requested one additional helicopter and two additional air tankers to battle the Fort fire.

LEBEC, CA (Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020 at 8:25 a.m.)—A brush fire is burning west of southbound Interstate 5, south of Grapevine and is racing up a hill, according to Kern County Fire dispatch operators. Ground, air and bulldozer resources are en route. The fire is currently 3 to 5 acres in light grass.
