Cause of Frazier man’s death released

The Kern County Sheriff Coroner’s Office informed The Mountain Enterprise on Monday, April 11, that the cause of death on October 30, 2021 for longtime Frazier Park resident Patrick Rory Hirst was an overdose of methamphetamine.

When asked whether there were any other contributing factors to Hirst’s death, Coroner’s Office Supervisor Dawn Ratliff said only that the other “contribution factor was dilated cardiomyopathy (heart condition).”

The coroner’s office has classified the manner of death as “accident.”

There was no other contributing factor to his death, according to the coroner’s office.
