CHP officer shoots, kills man at Laval Road — New evidence explains confusion at scene for witnesses with blocked view

A northbound car chase that started in Gorman along Interstate 5 on Sunday, Aug. 4 ended with a vehicle collision and a fatality. The driver was shot and killed by a California Highway Patrol officer on the Laval Road on-ramp near the Outlets at Tejon mall.

Kern County Sheriff’s homicide detectives have been assigned to investigate. KCSO Public Information Officer Angela Monroe said reports of a reckless northbound driver in Gorman were received by CHP at…(please see below to view full stories and photographs)
