On Saturday, February 15, a contentious Pine Mountain Club Property Owners Association (PMCPOA) board meeting was held at the clubhouse. Two resolutions raised during the meeting created the majority of the controversy.

Director Brad Hudson presented Resolution # 01-02-15-2025, calling for the Board of Directors to approve the master plan for the Clubhouse Revitalization Project and to submit “the first plan check submission for permits” to Kern County for the project.

In support of the resolution, Director Phillip Gabriel said that it is “impossible” to obtain an accurate estimate of the revitalization cost until everything is submitted to the county and a plan check is completed. “The only way to stop people from throwing out fake numbers [regarding the estimated cost of the clubhouse renovations] is to give them real numbers.”

Director Shawn Coulter said his problem with the resolution was that PMCPOA members have not had an opportunity to vote on the measure themselves, and that the POA does not have a proper plan to submit for permits. Coulter said, “I’m trying to understand how we keep putting money into this albatross without members…[voting] on it.”
