The 2014 Holiday Craft Fair at the Pine Mountain clubhouse “was hands-down a good time,” said General Manager Rory Worster.

Recreation and Facilities Supervisor Mandi Lyons said the facility was booked for two months in advance for every spot.

“We were totally packed and had a great turnout, more people than have ever attended,” Lyons said.

In all, Worster added, “There were 38 vendors from the Mountain Communities, providing their handcrafted goods available for people to purchase. From woodwork to candles, and pottery to paintings, we had it all!”

Lyons said about 250 people from all over the mountain participated in the annual Christmas tree lighting event the night before the craft fair. She said that was a good lead-in for people from around the mountain (plus visitors from off the hill) to come to the fair. Rental houses were also booked up for the Thanksgiving holiday, realtors said.

“The craft fair was held on Small Business Saturday, which encourages people to ‘shop local’ for the holidays, and nothing can beat handmade items from local people when it comes to small business,” Worster added, thanking those who attended.
