Deborah Angel and her family say they have much to be grateful for this Thanksgiving. Last year at this time she was hospitalized with covid-19. Doctors at one point told Angel’s husband to gather the family to say goodbye.

After eleven days in the hospital, Deborah Angel returned home to continue her recovery, which is ongoing. Pain and diminished use of her hands is leading her to evolve her familiar style [see photo left], which features minute, mixed-media layerings of eras, colors, tones and textures.

“If I can’t do it the way I did it before,” said a quietly determined Angel, “I can find a new way.”

The talented artist and jewelry maker is celebrating this new chapter by returning to Artworks Community Gallery in Pine Mountain Village with her Stash & Carry Boutique, a month-long show featuring her creations alongside those of Mary Kelly-Stobert, Carolyn Gilbert, Megan Monroe and others. This unique event begins Friday, Nov. 26 and runs through Sunday, Jan. 9.
