FRAZIER PARK, CA (Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016 at 11:45 a.m.)—Los Angeles County Sheriff’s homicide detectives are asking the public’s help in identifying a woman whose body was found Sunday, Aug. 14 near Gorman about 50 yards north of Highway 138. See the images at right.
A family that had been traveling and stopped for a rest discovered the body lying in the brush along Gorman Post Road about a mile and a half east of Interstate 5.
The sheriff’s department stated: “The victim appeared to be unconscious, which prompted the motorist to call 9-1-1. Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies and fire rescue personnel responded and discovered the victim suffered trauma to the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.”
The victim is a 25 to 35-year-old female, either white or hispanic, about 5 feet, 1 inch tall and weighing about 96 pounds. Her eyes were blue and her hair was dyed a dark burgundy color. She had several tattoos on her body, including the names “Rylee” and “Brayden.”

Woman’s body found near Gorman
A body found on Sunday, Aug. 14 remains a mystery while investigators try to identify the young victim.
Lt. José Mendoza told The Mountain Enterprise that a family had found the body at the edge of Gorman Post Road just 50 yards north of Highway 138. They called authorities at about 5 p.m.
Homicide investigators believe the body is that of a woman between 20 and 30 years of age. Mendoza said it was the severe head trauma that led them to believe the victim was murdered.
By Monday morning, the case had been placed on a security hold, restricting all information from release until detectives can assemble their facts and better determine the type of case they are dealing with.
