Whether or not a Dollar General store is built in Frazier Park may be decided at a variance hearing next Thursday, Nov. 19. Kern County’s Planning and Community Development Department will decide if the empty Alpine Lumber site on Mt. Pinos Way has enough parking space to be suitable.
Variance requests from businesses are common in Kern County, as they are elsewhere, Kern County Planner Scott Denney explains. But Aaron Ramirez, a contractor for Dollar General (also referred to as ‘DG’), is working with county planners this week to see if a variance request may be unnecessary.
