Celebrate Earth Day Saturday, April 21 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the 3rd Annual ‘Through the Eyes of the Artist’ Earth Day Festival at the Frazier Mountain Park Community Center, coordinated by Arts for Earth Foundation, with other community groups, including the Center of the World Festival.

Artists and storytellers invite children of all ages to join in the fun to create their own art and even animated DVD stories.

The Frazier Park Library will have events across the street, and the Wind Wolves Preserve will offer two hikes led by a naturalist in beautiful San Emigdio Canyon. Come explore this historic canyon while learning about its natural history and wildlife. The schedule for Saturday, April 21 is:

9-10:30 a.m. Family hike-appropriate for all ages

2-4 p.m. Family hike-appropriate for ages 8 and up. No strollers.

Additional family discovery hikes will be held on:

Saturday, May 12 9-11 a.m.

Saturday, May 26 9-11 a.m.

Sunday, May 27 9-11 a.m.

Wind Wolves Preserve programs are free of charge. Donations are always greatly appreciated. Space is limited.

Participants should bring walking shoes, long pants, sunscreen, hats, water bottles and binoculars if they have them. All are welcome to stay after or arrive before the hike to picnic and enjoy the stream and waterfall. Please call (661) 858-1115 for directions and to make reservations.

Sunday, April 22

On Sunday, April 22, Frazier Mountain Girl Scout troops and volunteers will meet at Snow Bunny Hill to clean up litter. They have worked with the Chuchupate Ranger station for the past 4 years on this activity. For more details: contact Militsa Brennan 661-623-0356.
