Ventura, CA (July 10, 2020 at 5 p.m.)— The Ventura County Planning Commission has issued an invitation to the public to attend a Zoom meeting on July 16 at 8:30 a.m.: [https://vcrma.org/planning-commission.\] The meeting is to hear the Ventura County Planning Department’s submission of the Draft Environmental Impact Report for the 2040 revision of the Ventura County General Plan, along with public testimony. If you wish to speak at the meeting, you are asked to register the day before the meeting at https://vcrma.org/planning-commission no later than 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, the day prior to the Planning Commission hearing.
VENTURA, Calif. – The Planning Division invites the public to attend a public hearing on Thursday, July 16, 2020, for the Planning Commission to consider and provide recommendation to the Board of Supervisors regarding approval of the draft 2040 General Plan (which would replace the County’s existing General Plan) and associated draft Program Environmental Impact Report (EIR). The Planning Commission will also consider related California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) findings, mitigation measures, statement of overriding considerations and mitigation monitoring and reporting program. Spanish and Mixtec interpretive services will be provided for members of the public.
The 2040 General Plan is a long-range planning document that includes goals, policies and programs that will guide land use, resource protection and development through 2040. The 2040 General Plan includes a Land Use, Circulation, Conservation and Open Space, Hazards and Safety, Public Facilities and Services, Housing, Agricultural, Economic Vitality, and Water Elements in addition to cross cutting topics on health in all policies, environmental justice, climate resilience and a Climate Action Plan. The draft 2040 General Plan and EIR, which among other things analyzes the environmental impacts associated with implementation of the 2040 General Plan, were released to the public on January 13, 2020 for review and comment. Public comments received on these documents will be presented to the Planning Commission for its consideration during the July 16thhearing, as well the Planning Division’s recommended revisions to these documents.
The Draft 2040 General Plan and EIR are currently available to the public on the General Plan Update Project’s website https://vc2040.org/ on the Planning Division website at http://vcrma.org/divisions/planning (select “CEQA Environmental Review” to review the EIR), and at the County of Ventura, Resource Management Agency, Planning Division Public Counter, 3d Floor, Hall of Administration, 800 S. Victoria Avenue, Ventura, CA, 93009, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
