El Tejon Pharmacy Is NOT Offering Covid-19 Vaccine

Frazier Park, CA (Friday, Jan.29, 2021 at 8 a.m.)—Please call Kern County Public Health Department on Monday morning, Feb. 1 at 661.868.0165 to ask for an appointment at their next “surge” event at the Kern County Fairgrounds. Front-line workers, medical personnel and those over 65 years of age are eligible for this Phase I allocation.

El Tejon Pharmacy in Frazier Park is NOT receiving or administering Covid-19 vaccinations, co-owner and Pharmacist Ty Stout has confirmed.  This is contrary to information that was communicated by Pine Mountain Club POA, which also reported vaccines could be obtained from Adventist Health in Bakersfield at a number that is not making appointments.  The Mountain Enterprise has a policy of verifying, but was going to press after the pharmacy closed. We regret the error. However, the good news is that El Tejon Pharmacy will be taking appointments during Phase 2 of the vaccination effort.

Pharmacist Stout said that he is not sure when Phase 2 will begin.

“We are at the mercy of our suppliers,” Stout said with frustration in an interview on Friday. He feels pharmacies could make distribution more efficient throughout the state.
