Falcons among top teams in state in their division

UPDATE—LEBEC, CA (November 29, 2015 at 9:30 a.m.)—The Frazier Mountain High School volleyball team climbed to the second rung in the California State Girls CIF Championship, Division V. Last night their season ended in a closely fought match with Santa Clarita Christian.

There was confusion in reporting early this morning, when both CIF (California Interscholastic Federation) and MaxPreps reported that the Falcons had won Saturday night and were progressing to the playoffs for state championship. As of 7:30 a.m. this morning, CIF still listed FMHS as the winner, but by 10 a.m. their error was corrected.

 On Tuesday, Dec. 1 the FMHS Falcons will play the Upland Christian Academy Eagles at 7 p.m.in an away game at 10900 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730. The Falcons are now one of the top two teams in their division in Southern California. They are among the top four teams in the entire state for high schools of their size. A quick glance at statistics indicates a cat’s whisker difference between the two schools, with the Eagles slightly stronger on offense and the Falcons slightly stronger on defense.See UPDATE Above. Upland Christian Academy is a private nondenominational Christian school with a $9,800 annual tuition for high school students. The K-12 school serves 550 students, with 179 students in grades 9-12 for 2014-15. FMHS serves about 330 students in grades 9-12.

SANTA CLARITA, CA (November 28, 2015 at 10 p.m.)—On Saturday, Nov. 28 the Frazier Mountain High School Falcons won their CIF State Girls Volleyball Championship playoff game against Santa Clarita Christian “by a score of 3-2” according to MaxPreps. That means the Falcons have emerged as among the top four Division V teams in California. They will progress to the third rung of the state playoffs. Hold onto your hats, and do what you can to get to the next playoff game! Details will be posted about the next game as soon as possible.
