About a thousand happy people with cold red noses began their holiday celebration at the 24th Annual Festival of Lights Holiday Faire parade, put on by the Mountain Communities Chamber of Commerce, Saturday, Dec. 20 in Frazier Park.

Grand Marshal Richard Hoegh was dapper in his tuxedo and top hat, throwing candy to the crowd. The parade started shortly after 3 p.m., at the “south pole” of Mt. Pinos Way near Coffee Cantina and marched to the “north pole” near Frazier Park Market.

Even though the brand new sidewalks and benches that are part of Frazier Park’s long-awaited streetscape beautification project were covered in snow, the parade route was sparkling with activity and the new street lights were decorated with spirals of greenery and red ribbons for the holidays.

The parade was announced by David Mack and Conrad Schwarm.
