    This classic car was on Lockwood Valley Road, Kimberly Oxford Hall reports, after a day at the Ridge Route Run car show in Frazier Park on May 24, 2019. "It was a cream puff Studebaker," Hall reported. At about 5 p.m. the Studebaker was on its way home, but got caught in the storm, hydroplaned and rolled over. Hall reports that the driver was able to get out. "There was heavy hail in the area that might have contributed to the crash," she said, adding: "He's fine, just very bummed out!"

UPDATE: Frazier Park, Lockwood Valley, Piñon Pines, Pine Mountain Club, the Grapevine, CA (Monday, May 27, 2019 at 7 a.m.)—Decks and windshields may still be covered with snow in parts of the mountain communities this morning, but the roads are clear—except where they are not…so be vigilant. Bright skies are predicted for Memorial Day and throughout the week. See snow photos at right from early Monday morning by the Bolton family.

UPDATE: Frazier Park, Lockwood Valley, Piñon Pines, Pine Mountain Club, the Grapevine, CA (May 26, 2019 at 7 p.m.)—  Yes, that was snow flying through the air again at 7 p.m. this evening. It’s wet out there, but the snow did not stick. The roads are wet, so slow down, sloooow down…. hydroplaning has caused an accident already this weekend.  Stay safe. Memorial Day—tomorrow— is predicted to see clear skies. See the photos here to see snow, hail, and a hydroplane accident on Lockwood Valley Road.

UPDATE: Frazier Park, Lockwood Valley, Piñon Pines, Pine Mountain Club, the Grapevine, CA (May 25-26, 2019)— Emergency Flash Flood warnings Saturday came just before a hailstorm dumped massive hail in Piñon Pines [see Peter Bogdanoff photo]. The storm also caused a Ridge Route Run Car Show classic car to flip over on Lockwood Valley Road [See Kimberly Oxford Hall photo] at about 5 p.m.

Stormy skies are predicted for tomorrow also. Drivers are asked to be cautious and to avoid driving through flash flood waters. Monday is predicted to be calm, the National Weather Service said.

The National Weather Service in Hanford CA has issued a Flash Flood Warning for… South central Kern County in central California… * Until 700 PM PDT. *

At 401 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include… Bakersfield, Mount Pinos, Mettler, Frazier Park, Pine Mountain Club, Grapevine, Lake Of The Woods and Interstate 5 over the Grapevine.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… Turn around…don`t drown!

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property.
