We hold these truths to be self-evident…that all friends and family are invited to our Fort Tejon State Historic Park Fourth of July celebration. So, pack your picnic baskets and coolers and come celebrate Independence Day the old-fashioned way as it was celebrated in 1856.
We will conduct a 31 cannon salute honoring each state in the union in 1856. We’ll follow that with a series of games people played at 4th of July celebrations in 1856, such as tug-o-war, sack races, three-legged races, an egg toss and a pie eating contest.
We recommend you bring a picnic lunch as the park has no concessions.
Fort Tejon is off the I-5 at the Fort Tejon exit. Tickets: 18 and older, $7; ages 7-17, $3; 6 and under, free; Families (parents and children under 18), $18; Scouts and leaders in uniform, $2; (other family members, individual fees).
