On July 26, 2025, Frazier Park native Shaun Kaldec won a Los Angeles Area Emmy Award in the Independent Programming category for his documentary Possible Selves: Overcoming the Odds in Foster Care.

Kaldec, who still visits his parents in Frazier Park monthly, reflected on his hometown. “It’s a good place to grow up,” he said. After graduating from high school, he became the first in his family to attend college, enrolling at Carleton College where he studied experimental music and honed his skills on the piano.
