The Grapevine, Lebec, Gorman, Frazier Park, CA (Friday, July 27, 2012 at 4:30 p.m.)—The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) plans to close multiple lanes of the Golden State Freeway (I-5) in north Los Angeles County from Sunday, July 29 to Friday, Aug. 3 in both southbound and northbound directions between the Kern County line in Lebec and Vista Del Lago Road near Pyramid lake.
According to the Caltrans press release, one lane may be closed at any time in both the northbound and southbound directions between Pyramid Lake and Lebec. Up to three northbound lanes may be closed from 5 p.m. to noon the following day. Up to three southbound lanes may be closed from 6 p.m. through 3 p.m. the following day. The most restrictive closures (i.e., the most lanes closed) will happen between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. when traffic volumes are lower, Caltrans said.
The Interstate 5 off-ramp to Smokey Bear Road south of Gorman will be closed off from Friday, Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. to Friday, Aug 10 at 5 a.m. as part of a pavement repair project between Vista Del Lago Road and the Kern County line in Lebec.
