It caught them by surprise.Three directors of Mountain Community water boards went all the way up to Visalia in Tulare County last Saturday, Sept. 10 for a rural leadership training workshop sponsored by Self-Help Enterprises.
Their goal was to get the facts about the state’s Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA).
They wanted to know what kind of groundwater basin management partnerships they may have to develop with their neighbors in the future.
But suddenly something caught their eye.
On page 11 of the notes they were given by the instructors, the names of their own water districts leapt out at them, saying that they had already merged into a management authority…(please see below to view full stories and photographs)
