Heart carries cyclists through Los Padres

Every spring, a group of determined mountain bikers ventures deep into the heart of California for the Tour de Los Padres, an unmarked, self-supported ride through “some of the most scenic areas of Southern Los Padres National Forest,” according to their website. It is not quite a race, but something tougher, wilder, and altogether more soulful.
