Highway 33 to Ojai is washed out

VENTUCOPA, CA (Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018 at 11:45 a.m.)—Caltrans has reported that Highway 33 (the route to Ojai and Ventura) is washed out. The washout is located at post mile marker 23.65, which is 12 miles south, southeast from the intersection of Lockwood Valley Road and Highway 33. The dispatch from Caltrans reads as follows: “33 will remain closed to all but residents and emergency vehicles. There is a large washout at PM 23.65, and there are several slides that have been cut back to allow access, but the area is still unstable. There will be a Caltrans crew on all night to keep lanes open for emergencies.”
