THESE PAGES offer a glimpse into the journey from early childhood to young adulthood in these Mountain Communities.

And, in this historic year of the covid-19 pandemic, they hopefully also serve as some small consolation to the students pictured here, especially the 12th-graders in a graduation season that was missing so much ~ spring sports and awards banquets, prom, myriad end-of-school festivities and the precious final school days spent with friends, before all
launching off into their various pursuits in the wider world.

Putting together this special Honoring the Graduates of 2020 issue was made possible by the dedicated people at all our mountain area schools.

In the pages of this week’s issue, you’ll meet the 8th graders who are graduating from middle school, preparing to embark on high school adventures. For the first time in our graduation edition, you’ll also meet kindergarten students who are leaving the cocoon of early education and venturing into elementary school.

Beginning on page 12, meet the Frazier Mountain High School Falcons, who spread their wings on graduation day, June 4, 2020.

Our Mountain Community students are mentored by caring educators, friends, sports coaches, church families, librarians, artists, musicians, business people and leadership training volunteers. It truly is a village that comes together to help hard-working parents nurture our mountain youth. We thank you.
