Input Sought on Transportation Fund Priorities At May 1 Meeting

By Patric Hedlund

If you’ve been thinking about energy, transportation and how best to invest public dollars to serve the Mountain Communities, you will have a chance to share your opinions on Tuesday, May 1. A workshop at Frazier Mountain Park Community Center 6-8:30 p.m. could have a major impact on this region.

The Kern Council of Governments (KernCOG) workshop seeks community opinion, said spokesperson Robert Phipps. KernCOG had a hand in authorizing the projects that have transformed the face of Frazier Park over the last five years.

The streetscape project, sidewalks extending down Mt. Pinos Way to the Frazier Park School, construction of pathways in Frazier Mountain Park and purchase of new transit system buses to serve this region were all funded with the assistance of KernCOG.

This is part of the April 27, 2012 online edition of The Mountain Enterprise.
