Ivana Mae Noell (nee Thompson) was born September 15 1936, in Laramie, Wyoming, to Ivan H. Thompson and Veronica L. Korinek. She died January 8, 2022, in Ventura, California.

Ivana grew up on the edge of town, near Laramie, Wyoming. When she left home, she landed in Stockton, California, where her lifelong love of learning began.
