JobFest on Tuesday Offers Employment Opportunities

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Monday, May 13, 2013 at 5:45 p.m.) – The Kern County Department of Human Services 2013 JobFest Series will feature an event in Bakersfield tomorrow.

Bakersfield JobFest takes place Tuesday May 14th at the Marriott Hotel, 801 Truxtun Avenue, in Bakersfield from 9:00 a.m. to Noon.

Bakersfield’s unemployment rate is currently at 9.5%. Over 1000 available positions will be represented by 85 employers participating in this year’s Bakersfield JobFest!

JobFest has been bringing employment opportunities to every region of Kern County. With Kern County’s overall unemployment rate as of February at 13.6%, the JobFest series is just one way DHS works to improve the lives of children and families throughout Kern County.

All employers participating in the JobFest have current, open positions and are seeking employees to fill these positions. There is no cost to participate. Children are not allowed to attend.

Job Seekers should come to JobFest dressed for success with at least 20 copies of their resume or Master Application, and arrive early as large crowds are expected.
