UPDATE (Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016 at 7 a.m.)— The family now says the memorial for John Cavey, Jr.  is likely to be on Tuesday, Jan. 17 (earlier, January 14 was mentioned, but that is likely to be changed, family members said). The location is not yet certain. It will be announced in The Mountain Enterprise when the arrangements are final.

John Cavey, Jr. dies Dec. 19

John Cavey, Jr. has died following multiple heart attacks suffered on Sunday. He was airlifted to San Joaquin Hospital in Bakersfield and lingered under care there.

His father, John Cavey, Sr., confirmed the death Tuesday morning. Angela Kokkinakis, John Cavey, Jr.’s sister, said her brother passed away Monday night at 11:07 p.m.

Cavey, Jr. was instrumental in helping to run the family business, Caveman Cavey’s Pizza in Frazier Park.

We are deeply saddened and offer heartfelt condolences to members of the Cavey family, who have been pillars of this community and Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church.
