Kern County libraries receive $12.8M grant from state

Kern County Library announced on September 13 that it has been awarded a $12.8 million infrastructure grant by the State of California to assist 17 of the county’s 22 branches.

Kern County Libraries opened its new Frazier Park Branch on October 22, 2011 at a cost of $6.3 million, half of which was raised through the efforts of then Kern County Libraries Director Diane Duquette, who spent years arranging state grants.
