L.A. County Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives Investigate Remains Found Near Old Ridge Route

Gorman, CA (Sunday, March 16, 2014)— Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies reported that at about 10:10 a.m. on Saturday U.S. Forest Service personnel reported the discovery of what appear to be human remains in a ravine near the Old Ridge Route, off of Highway 138 (Avenue D). They said the remains appear to be of a male adult and may have been in the area for up to four years. The L.A. County Coroner will investigate further. Homicide detectives report they are investigating possible foul play.

Mountain Community and Western Antelope Valley residents have been asked over the last three years to help provide information about the February 6, 2011 disappearance of Dennis Dobrovolny from his home in Three Points—just five miles from the location where the remains were found. His disappearance is still an unsolved mystery. The Mountain Enterprise reported about his disappearance in a series of stories after interviewing his family members, who offered the public a $5,000 reward for information leading to his whereabouts. Homicide detectives who investigated his home said it was a crime scene. Further information will be reported in this week’s upcoming issue of The Mountain Enterprise newspaper.
