La Sierra turns 15 this Friday with help from Cary Park

It was fifteen years ago this week I remember the old Frazier Mountain Inn building was suddenly being cleaned up, renovated and painted.

I went in and met the owners of a new business in town, La Sierra Mexican Restaurant.

Veronica and Antonio Camacho had leased the building and were moving here to raise their children, Cesar and Rodrigo.

Within a week, trouble began as someone in the community complained about their painting of the building. It was orange and, apparently, the complainer did not like orange.

Veronica was afraid that the community would reject her new family restaurant and they immediately spent the money to have the building painted again…(please see below to view full stories and photographs)
