Lake of the Woods Mutual Water shareholders vote to join regional water system

Lake of the Woods, CA (Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 7 p.m.)— Shareholders of the Lake of the Woods Mutual Water Company sealed the deal on Thursday, June 15 by 6:10 p.m. at a meeting at the LOWMWC office. Board Chair Robert Stowell and Office Manager Pam Jarecki confirmed that 16,532 shares voted “yes” to transfer the assets of the water company to the regional system. There were 1,472 “no” votes, and 450 shares abstained.

“The assets” are the wells, tanks and pipes of the distribution system, 4,000 feet of which will have been repaired and replaced with state grant money.  All repairs must be completed to the Lake of the Woods system and meters installed for all customers before the assets will be accepted into the FPPUD.
