Lawsuit filed to stop USFS Tecuya Ridge firebreak and logging

This spring, Los Padres National Forest (LPNF) Supervisor Kevin Elliott was asked by mountain residents,
including the Mountain Neighbors group, to withdraw his Decision Memos for two major fuel treatment and tree thinning projects in Cuddy Valley and Tecuya Ridge. Both may include commercial loggers. Elliott declined to reconsider.

Elliott used an administrative “categorical exclusion” (CE) process to avoid public hearings and environmental impact reviews.
