Lebec gets ‘tender, loving care’ from non-violent offenders

The front porch of our Mountain Communities got a gift on Thursday, March 31 from non-violent offenders on the Kern County Sheriff’s Work Release Program.

About six men worked through the day to clean the stretch along Frazier Mountain Park Road’s white fence across from Flying J. This area collects tumble weeds which, in turn, collect smaller bits of trash over time.

Contrary to what many may think, the Sheriff’s Work Release Program does not pay the men to do the work.

A Kern County dump truck took away the bags of litter at day’s end.
