Above left and right: Cinematographer Eric Anderson’s shadowy, film noir treatment of standard Lifetime elements: the anxious husband, the woman in distress (actress Katie Leclerc) and the unhinged guy with a gun.

Left: Anderson said the Santa Clarita home where they shot the move was great for filming, complete =with three balconies. This scene was shot with a Steadicam, operated by Jay Ruggieri (at top of photo, in doorway), which allows for a smooth shot as the camera moves to follow the action.

Anderson said, “I’m afraid we beat up on Jay, doing as much Steadicam work as possible.”

He said director Rob Malenfant comes up with great movement for the actors, which Anderson says “calls for innovative lighting approaches, which keep me on my toes.”

First assistant camera Alan Koplin is in the upper right corner, controlling focus remotely with a wireless device.

Gaffer Brian Patierno supervises crew covering the home’s western exposure to block the bright sun. This way, lighting in the shots made during the rest of the afternoon will match the ones made earlier, before the sun came blazing through the soaring cathedral windows.
