Local woman reports road rage incident followed her home

A self-described 63 year old disabled grandmother said she was driving on Mil Potrero Highway at 6:30 p.m. November 19. It was dark already. She noticed a sedan tailgating her.

“I was driving home to Pine Mountain. This person was riding my tail and wouldn’t get away from me. I hit my brakes twice to get him off of me,” she said, asking to be identified by her initials, CG, in concern for her safety.

She says she was being cautious because black ice was still lurking in shaded curves of the mountain road. She said she was traveling at a safe speed for the conditions.

“When I got to Woodland he followed me. There was another car behind him. They seemed to be traveling together. I was so scared,” CG told this reporter. She used the remote control to open her garage door as she approached the house.

“I pulled into my garage. He parked on the street in front of my house. The guy behind him also stopped. I was trying to close the garage door really fast. The next thing I knew, this guy was standing next to my car, inside my garage, leaning onto my car window, swearing at me,” CG said, “Only the lunatic came into the garage. The other driver didn’t.

I was sitting in my car looking up at him. He was crazy, swearing and raging.” CG said she leaned on her car horn to signal for help and didn’t let up until he ran away. He had dark, ‘normal length’ hair, maybe 50-55 years of age. He was fit, wearing a faded blue, short-sleeved T-shirt.

His complaint, she said, was that she was driving too slowly.

“He called me every word you can think of. He doesn’t know how often I do pull over when people are driving fast. He was angry that he had to travel a safe speed,” CG said. “For the first time in the 11 years I’ve lived here, I didn’t feel safe.”

A report about the home intrusion is filed with the sheriff’s office. She also plans to alert California Highway Patrol to find if there are other victims.
