On Saturday, July 26, the Ridge Route Museum hosted a special staged presentation of Heap of Livin’, a Living History Theatre adaptation of Delores McKenzie Atmore Gentry’s memoir, skillfully adapted for the stage by local historian Bonnie Ketterl Kane.
Eleven volunteer actors “trod the boards” at the museum to bring to life the story of mountain living between 1860 and 1920, told through the eyes of Dora Gentry. The stage was set with…(please see below to view full stories and photographs)
