The new presidential administration has introduced sweeping changes across the United States in the six months since President Trump returned to office. Among the most controversial of these efforts is a provision tucked into the “Big Beautiful Bill,” in which the legislation “…mandates that the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management [BLM] identify and sell off between 0.5% and 0.75% of all National Forest and BLM lands in eleven western states over the next five years.”
