Accuses January 6 Committee of ‘partisan political abuse of power’

The Frazier Mountain Community’s District 23 U.S. Congressman is Kevin McCarthy. He is also House Minority Leader, tasked with retaining House Republicans’ political competitiveness.

Rep. McCarthy issued a statement January 12 to say he will not “participate” in the House Select Committee’s investigation of the January 6, 2021 attack on the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. Several people died in this an attempt to keep the nation’s votes for president from being certified.

McCarthy’s statement was in reply to a letter from committee chair Bennie G. Thompson (D-Miss.). It requested that McCarthy help to illuminate events of January 6, 2021, such as his conversations with…(please see below to view full stories and photographs)
