Frazier Park, Lebec, Gorman, Pine Mountain Club, Cuddy Valley, Lockwood Valley, Lake of the Woods (Sunday, March 15, 2020)—There was not a drop of rain Friday or Saturday, but winds started to whistle, howl and moan around the mountain Saturday night. Temperatures are going to be chilly this week with highs predicted in the 30s and lows in the…[insert chattering teeth here]….20s. Showers and snow are predicted at only 30% Sunday. A 60% chance of precipitation blows in by Sunday night and that rises to 80% on Monday—so be prepared for ice and snow. Precipitation predictions decline by Thursday, with temperatures staying pretty chilly. The big question: will those eager pink blossoms get frostbite before they fully bloom on our flowering plum trees eager for springtime?

So we can all pretend it isn’t coronavirus prevention that is keeping us at home. It’s just a rainy day. Break out the board games and musical instruments. A 40% chance of rain on Sunday and Monday, then Bam: an 80% chance on Tuesday, 90% that night.The good news? Fire fuel will be wet and green a little while longer.
