Mountain residents lend their voices to March For Our Lives in L.A., Bakersfield

Marches across the planet lit up maps on March 24, as young people (and those who support them) drew up their signs, pulled on their sneakers and stepped into rivers of like-minded people in March For Our Lives events.

Mountain neighbors joined sister events in Bakersfield and Los Angeles. The attendance at the main march in Washington D.C. won estimates as high as 880,000. In California, from the front steps of the L.A. City Hall, Mayor Eric Garcetti spoke, then tweeted an estimate of 55,000 participants.
