If you want to see the face of courage, look into the eyes of any of the local independent business people who are struggling to keep their stores, restaurants, and yes, newspapers, open right now.

Our country is entering its sixth month of economic meltdown in the worst public health tragedy in over 100 years. It takes grit to run small, independently-owned retail businesses in these times. Look around, you’ll see neighbors being inventive.
